Android devices sometimes manage file extensions differently from other operating systems. This can lead to difficulties when you're trying to upload audio files from your Android phone or tablet to our platform.
What's Happening?
On devices like Windows PCs, Macs, and iPhones, audio tracks are typically assigned extensions such as ".wav" or ".mp3", making a file appear as "Your_song.mp3".
Android devices, however, might not include this extension if you are uploading directly from your device, leaving the file simply named "Your_song".
While your Android device still recognises it as an audio file, the lack of a visible extension can cause confusion for other systems, making it unclear whether the file is an audio track, a text document, an executable file, or even a virus.
The Impact:
To our upload engine, a file without an extension appears as an unknown file type, which raises uncertainty about its content and safety.
The Solution:
If you're encountering this issue, we recommend using a laptop or desktop PC (Windows or Mac) to upload your audio files. This workaround helps avoid the Android-specific upload challenges and ensures your files are correctly recognised and processed by our platform.
