There are a couple of reasons your video might be taking longer than usual to render
1. As we introduce more and more styles, we've noticed an upward trend in their complexity (we've tried to make them fancier over time)... some of the newer ones have several tiered layers of effects that are digitally silkscreened onto each frame during the render. The two that are most sophisticated are "Vertical Grid" and "Layer Layer" - for the most part, everything runs smoothly and the world is none the wiser. However, due to their complexity... videos with 100+ clips can sometimes run into problems with the render.
2. As we continue to grow as a company, our traffic increases with every week.
Every so often, we get an unexpected spike in traffic to our website, when this happens... render times can sometimes take longer than usual. Don't worry though, when this happens... we have some clever autoscaling tech that adds more server power to balance this and bring the render times back to normal.
However, the process of making steady improvements and pushing updates to our Rotor rendering engine; can sometimes cause a render to fail under certain circumstances (e.g. a certain amount of clips added or a clash with a particular style)
In the unlikely event your render is frozen.... please get in touch via help@rotorvideos.com and we will get your video up and running asap!
